Special Services Counsellor

Position: Special Services Counsellor Needed
Join the Upper Canada District School Board as a Special Services Counsellor in Oxford. This temporary position focuses on mental health interventions and case management for students facing challenges.

You will work under the guidance of the Chief Psychologist, immersed in a role that emphasizes assessment, crisis intervention, and community collaboration. Your responsibilities include coordinating support services and addressing barriers affecting student achievement. A strong focus on relationship-building with students and families is essential as you promote well-being and educational success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students

• Work with families to navigate educational and social services

• Lead crisis response initiatives for students in need

• Manage cases for high-risk students with ongoing support

• Deliver in-service training on children’s mental health

Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work required

• At least 5 years of relevant experience

• Crisis management expertise needed

• Strong communication skills essential

• Ability to adapt to changing work environments
