Environmental Scientist​/Geologist

Sovereign Consulting Inc. is seeking a full-time Mid-Level Environmental Scientist or Geologist with 8-10 years of experience for our Oxford, CT location. Sovereign Consulting Inc. is an environmental consulting and remediation firm headquartered in Robbinsville, NJ.

• Provide field and office support of site investigations involving oversight of environmental drilling, well installation and soil sampling.
• Support environmental remediation design tasks, including soil and groundwater remediation design.
• Assist with technical report preparation documents including data input and interpretation.
• Have an understanding of the CT Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs), UST Regulations, Significant Environmental Hazard Program, CT Transfer Act, and other similar programs/requirements.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Handle other related duties assigned; and
• Adherence to Sovereign Consulting Inc. health and safety procedures in all field related activities.

• 8-10 years of related experience is required
• A bachelor’s degree in environmental science or geology
• Current LEP license is a plus or plan or desire to obtain LEP license within 2023/2024 licensing period
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification
• OSHA 30-hr Construction or General Industry certification, a plus
• Demonstrated technical writing skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft office, Adobe, and CAD a plus
• Must have excellent communication, analytical, field sampling skills.
• Must have a good driving record and be able to drive a company vehicle

Employment at Sovereign is contingent upon the results of a Drug & Alcohol screening test and a pre-placement medical evaluation that determines candidate’s ability to capably and safely perform the proposed job duties. Salary will be commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
