Responsible for managing and coordinating all aircraft maintenance activities at our Oxford, CT location to ensure flight safety and operational efficiency. Duties include overseeing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring FAA and company regulation compliance, and collaborating with dispatch, flight operations, and maintenance personnel to minimize disruptions. Flexible work schedule required, including weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions- Provide technical guidance and make decisions regarding aircraft maintenance.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments.
- Determine schedules for maintenance inspections, manage unscheduled maintenance, and monitor aircraft maintenance status.
- Address and coordinate resolution of maintenance discrepancies to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations and company standards.
- Maintain clear communication with maintenance crews, flight crews, and management.
- Review and approve maintenance release documents and initiate return‑to‑service procedures.
- Perform on‑call duties one week on a 5‑6 week rotation.
- Lead, train, and mentor the Maintenance Control team; maintain 24/7 coverage and adjust staffing as needed.
- Monitor overall maintenance workload across the fleet; review key decisions and overtime.
- Ensure compliance with Part 135 regulations, GOM, and Ops Specs.
- Review maintenance records for accuracy and compliance; address recurring issues in deferred items.
- Lead during serious maintenance events (e.g., AOG situations); serve as escalation point.
- Assess team performance and provide constructive feedback; oversee training on systems and procedures.
- Act as primary contact with Flight Ops leadership, Dispatch, and the Director of Maintenance; attend safety meetings and planning discussions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and track KPIs.
- FAA A&P license (5+ years of experience preferred).
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Valid US Driver’s License with clean driving record.
- Valid passport without travel restrictions.
- Eagerness to learn and willingness to train.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to hear and speak clearly on the phone and in meetings (in person or virtual).
