The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in supporting the company’s financial operations, compliance, and strategic initiatives. This position is responsible for leading key accounting processes such as special projects, month end close, and compliance reporting. With a focus on operational efficiency and data accuracy, the Senior Accountant will drive process improvements, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the growing demand for financial insights.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to interact with all departments within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Month End Close: Lead and coordinate the company’s month end close process. Ensure timely and accurate financial statements and supporting documentation. Analyze operating results and KPI reporting. Prepare and maintain adjusting journal entries.

Internal and External Audit: Coordinate and ensure timely completion of internal and external audits with up-to-date documentation.

ERP Implementation: Contribute to the successful implementation of the new ERP system through system testing, end-user training, and process documentation.

Compliance Reporting: Oversee sales and use tax, unclaimed property, and other external reports. Support audit preparation and explore system-driven efficiencies to streamline reporting.

Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify and enhance financial processes such as warranty accruals, inventory controls, and customer billing workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Manage financial data requests, support reporting tool development, and respond to data needs for corporate initiatives and budgeting.

Strategic Resource Planning: Support long-term efficiency strategies by optimizing finance operations and reducing future headcount increases.

Qualifications

Required Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools; ERP implementation experience is a plus
Proven project and cross-functional initiative leadership skills
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience/Skills:

Knowledge of multi-state sales and use tax reporting
Experience automating and improving accounting processes
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities
