Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a customer-centric team of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving office growth objectives.
  • Provide leadership and development of tax office associates; serve as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products.
  • Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing community involvement.
  • Assist the District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
  • Act as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns and ensure client scheduling is proper with conflicts resolved.
  • Lead daily activities to ensure work is completed on time with quality standards and aligned with priorities and goals.
  • Build an engaging team environment by coaching associates to execute on Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.
  • Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
  • Create associate work schedules and ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
  • Prepare tax returns, as required.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and address associate issues in collaboration with the Associate Relations Center.
Qualifications and Expertise
  • Prior experience in a customer service, shift lead, or similar role.
  • Experience supervising or managing people.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course* (if preparing tax returns).
  • Annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Customer-centric mindset with resilience and adaptability.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule and adapt to business needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (or higher).
