Masis Professional Group is recruiting for a Cost Accountant on behalf of our client located in Oxford, NC. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

This role is responsible for managing all cost accounting activities, supporting financial reporting, overseeing inventory and receivables reconciliations, and assisting with other financial processes while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

Essential Functions of the Cost Accountant:

• Control key accounts in the receivable collection process.
• Work with customer service & sales departments to reconcile and settle invoices in non-compliance statuses.
• Assist in evaluating the impact of changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing processes on overall costs.
• Help conduct physical inventories and monitor cycle count program.
• Work with purchasing team to report pricing changes pro-actively.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare ad hoc management financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Assist with annual audits.
• Suggest improvements to systems and procedures and initiate changes.
• Maintain financial security by following and developing internal controls, where necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications of the Cost Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
• Two years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures.
• Knowledge of Access & SQL a plus.
• Knowledge and understanding of financial accounting statements.
• Strong aptitude for numbers.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Experience with general ledger functions.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, as a team member.
• Strong oral & written communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
