Job Description SummaryAssistant Professor (tenure-track) in applied microeconomics, with particular interest in candidates working in health economics; toteach courses at the undergraduate and Master’s level; to publish original high-quality research; to advise students; and to engagein service. Multiple positions available.
Job DescriptionThe Department of Economics at Miami University invites applications for two tenure-track assistant professor positions.
Duties include teaching courses at the undergraduate and Master’slevel, publishing original high-quality research, advising students, and engaging in service.
The Department of Economics, which is in the Farmer School of Business, has approximately 500 undergraduate majors and 15students in its Master’s of Economics program. High quality teaching and research are both valued in the department, which is composed of approximately 25 tenured/tenure-track, teaching, and visiting faculty.
Minimum Qualifications- Required:
Ph.D. in economics or related discipline by date of appointment. - Consideration will be given to candidates with research interest sin applied microeconomics and especially health economics.
Submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement,evidence of teaching performance (if available), and research sample to the AEA's job application system and to Miami. The teaching statement should address how the candidate fosters classroom engagement with respect to student background and learning style.
