The Certified Systems Technician is an experienced field technician responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, and service of automated warehouse systems and Modula Vertical Lift Systems for Tier 1 MRO clients. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, sound technical judgment, and the ability to independently execute installations and service engagements in customer environments.
This position is expected to demonstrate growing system mastery, consistent execution of established standards, and reliable troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues. The Certified Systems Technician plays a key role in delivering high-quality field service while continuing to expand technical depth and system expertise.
Core Responsibilities- Execute installation, configuration, and commissioning of Modula systems according to company and manufacturer standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance and standard repairs to ensure consistent system performance.
- Support inventory transfer activities and system setup requirements.
- Identify and resolve routine and moderately complex mechanical or electrical issues.
- Escalate highly complex or recurring failures when appropriate.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using technical documentation, schematics, and manufacturer resources.
- Apply working knowledge of system architecture to restore equipment to proper operating condition.
- Follow established repair procedures and safety protocols.
- Document all service activities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure installations and service engagements meet quality, safety, and operational standards.
- Maintain professional work spaces, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor utilization of time and accurately record time and expenses.
- Represent Tier 1 MRO professionally at client sites.
- Strong working knowledge of Modula systems and related automation equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and service manuals.
- Proficient use of hand tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
- Working knowledge of CRM, HRIS, and Microsoft Office systems.
- Demonstrates increasing confidence in troubleshooting and field decision-making.
- High school diploma required; technical/vocational training preferred.
- 1–3 years of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, automation, or industrial field service experience preferred.
- Exposure to VLM, ASRS, or carousel systems preferred.
- Modula Certification preferred.

Physical Requirements
- Must possess a Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to rent vehicles in the U.S.
- Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time across North America.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and work at heights up to 45+ feet.
- Ability to obtain required certifications to safely operate equipment at job sites.
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver objects; climb ladders or steps; work safely around machinery; and perform tasks in warehouse or industrial environments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Warehouse Exposure:
Regular exposure to warehouse environments, including moving equipment, machinery, varying temperatures, noise, and moderate dust. - Employee must follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Standing and Mobility:
Ability to stand and remain on one’s feet for the majority of the shift, with frequent walking, bending, and movement as required to perform job duties.
