Financial Accountant

Mackie Myers have partnered with a growing organisation in Oxfordshire to appoint a Financial Accountant into their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business during an exciting period of growth.

The Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, managing the month‑end process and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The role also supports audit, tax, budgeting and process improvements while partnering with stakeholders across the business.

• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
• Manage month‑end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare VAT returns and support statutory accounts and year‑end audit.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.
• Support process improvements and finance systems enhancements.
• Partner with stakeholders to provide financial analysis and insight.

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Previous financial accounting experience, ideally within industry or practice.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP (FRS 102), statutory reporting and VAT.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and committed to continuous improvement.

• Salary range £50,000‑£55,000
