Overview

We are seeking to appoint a professional, friendly and effective receptionist to join our administration team and share responsibility for managing the main school reception. You will have experience of working in a customer service environment and dealing with a variety of people by telephone and face to face. You will be confident in using IT systems and have the ability to learn new applications as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Share responsibility for managing the main school reception and provide a welcoming, professional front-line service to students, staff, parents and visitors.
  • Handle inquiries by telephone and face-to-face, providing accurate information and directing to appropriate colleagues as needed.
  • Maintain and use IT systems efficiently and learn new applications as required.
  • Support administrative processes as part of the administration team, contributing to the smooth running of the school reception.
  • Adhere to school policies and safeguarding requirements as part of daily duties.
Working Hours

Headington's reception is open from 7.45 am until 6.00 pm Monday - Friday during term time and from 7.45 am until 1.00 pm during school holidays. The role is to cover the morning period from 7.45am – 1pm during term time and may require work from 7.45 am until 1.00 pm during some holidays. Annual leave should be taken during school holidays.

Qualifications

and Requirements
  • Experience in a customer service environment and dealing with a variety of people by telephone and face to face.
  • Confidence in using IT systems and the ability to learn new applications as necessary.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The ability to provide evidence of the right to live and work in the UK and to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers, DBS and barred lists checks.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team in a school environment and to support the school's ethos and values.
