About Us
Oxfordshire County Council is committed to improving outcomes for our communities through innovation, data‑driven decision‑making, and a culture that values learning, kindness, integrity, responsibility, and doing things differently. Our Data & Insight Team plays a central role in helping services understand their workforce, identify trends, and make evidence‑based decisions. We work collaboratively across the organisation, supporting colleagues with high‑quality information, analytical insight, and user‑friendly reporting tools that empower services to act with confidence.
Aboutthe Role
This role sits within the HR Data and Insight team, supporting the delivery of high‑quality workforce reporting and analysis to inform decision‑making across the Council.
You will produce and maintain a range of regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual), respond to Freedom of Information requests, and manage a varied pipeline of ad hoc HR data enquiries. Working with HR systems and datasets, you will ensure accuracy, timeliness and consistency of information, applying established processes while using judgement to prioritise work and elevate issues where needed.
Aboutyou
You will have experience working with data, ideally within an HR or organisational setting, and be confident producing accurate reports and handling sensitive information. You are analytical, organised and detail‑focused, with strong IT skills and the ability to interpret and present data clearly to a range of stakeholders. You are comfortable managing multiple requests to tight deadlines, including statutory requests such as FOI, and take a proactive approach to improving data quality and reporting processes.
A collaborative and customer‑focused mindset, alongside a commitment to confidentiality and professional standards, is essential.
Working for Oxfordshire County Council means working for a supportive organisation that values flexibility, wellbeing, and professional development. As a G8 employee, you will benefit from a competitive salary, generous annual leave, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, and a range of employee benefits including flexible working options, professional learning opportunities, staff networks, and wellbeing resources. You will be part of a team that invests in your growth and empowers you to make a meaningful impact across the organisation.
Please note that office locations may change as part of our transition following the closure of County Hall. We will keep you informed and support you through any changes.
