We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Commercial Director – Europe and Africa to lead business development and technology licensing activities across the region. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role will be responsible for originating, developing, and closing strategic opportunities while building lasting relationships with customers, developers, partners, and key industry stakeholders.

• Develop and execute regional growth strategies to expand Velocys’ commercial pipeline.
• Lead complex technology licensing and commercialization opportunities from initial engagement through contract execution.
• Build and manage executive-level customer and partner relationships.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, technology, legal, finance, and leadership teams to develop winning commercial solutions.
• Represent Velocys at industry conferences, customer workshops, and key market events.
• Identify emerging opportunities within the SAF, low-carbon fuels, hydrogen, and broader energy transition markets.

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated success selling complex technologies, technology licenses, industrial processes, or capital projects.
• Strong technical credibility combined with outstanding commercial and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to develop new business, build strategic partnerships, and close significant commercial agreements.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building capabilities.
• Experience with in SAF, hydrogen, refining, syngas, Fischer-Tropsch technology, or broader energy transition markets is highly desirable.
