One of the UK's largest and most respected MEP contractors is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join the team on a flagship science park and commercial development based in Oxford.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a contractor that has an outstanding reputation within the industry, a strong project pipeline, and a proven track record of progressing and retaining high-performing staff.
Initially offered on a freelance basis, there is a genuine opportunity for the successful candidate to transition into a permanent PAYE position in the near future.
Role OverviewYou will take responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the mechanical package, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with programme and quality expectations.
The role requires a strong Construction Manager with experience coordinating multiple mechanical disciplines and managing subcontractors within fast-paced commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee mechanical installation works across the project
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and specialist suppliers
- Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, specifications, and quality standards
- Maintain strict health & safety compliance on site
- Coordinate multiple mechanical disciplines across various work fronts
- Monitor progress and provide reporting to senior project teams
- Support commissioning, snagging, and handover activities
- Liaise with consultants, clients, and internal delivery teams
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager within MEP/building services
- Strong background working on commercial projects
- Experience overseeing multiple mechanical disciplines
- Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills
- Good understanding of programme management and site delivery
