Salary: £67,000 - £78,000 DOE + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
Hays Construction are partnering with a highly respected regional main contractor with a strong presence across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and the wider Thames Valley. With a secured pipeline of work and a reputation for delivering complex projects across the commercial, life sciences, education and advanced manufacturing sectors, they are looking to appoint a Senior Site Manager / Project Manager to join the team on a flagship £40m development in Oxford.
Unlike many roles where you're moved from project to project, this position offers genuine long-term prospects within the region. This landmark £40m scheme combines the refurbishment and transformation of existing buildings alongside the construction of new state-of-the-art facilities within a live and technically complex environment.

Reporting into the Project Manager, you will become a key member of the site leadership team with significant responsibility and autonomy. The successful candidate will play a major role in the day-to-day delivery of the project, helping drive programme, quality and safety targets while coordinating multiple subcontractors and work packages across the scheme.
Key Responsibilities- Managing day-to-day site operations
- Driving programme and production targets
- Coordinating subcontractors across multiple work fronts
- Managing structural, envelope and internal fit-out packages
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality
- Leading site meetings and progress reviews
- Resolving technical and operational challenges
- Liaising with consultants, design teams and client representatives
- Assisting with project planning and sequencing
- Supporting overall delivery strategy
- Mentoring and developing junior members of the site team

What We're Looking For- Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager or Project Manager with a main contractor Track record delivering projects valued in excess of £20m
- Experience on both refurbishment and new build projects
- Strong understanding of structural works, building envelope and internal fit-out packages
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and complex programmes
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to maintain programme whilst delivering quality and safety standards
- Proactive and solutions-focused approach to project delivery
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
- Experience with in life sciences, healthcare, research facilities or other technically complex environments would be advantageous, but is not essential.
