For 30 years we've been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film and mo-cap studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.
We operate across multiple UK locations and employ a hybrid work pattern for this position from our studios located in Oxford, Warwick and Runcorn. Rebellion is looking for a Production Manager for Rebellion Unplugged, our Tabletop RPG and Boardgame division. This role is the perfect opportunity for a lover of board games to take the next step in their production career with an ambitious and exciting company.
Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with the development team from the early stages of projects to maximise quality and cost efficiency while fitting the right materials to the play experience.
- Ensure clear and consistent quality expectations are met and projects are completed on schedule and to budget.
- Manage the schedule alongside the in-house game developers and manage the quality control process for samples and completed games.
- Request quotes, maintain safety and product import marks on products, and advise on safety testing requirements for international markers and their implementation.
- Liaise with international printers and freight companies, negotiate terms, and manage long and short print deadlines.
- Book freight, monitor product formats, print quantities and schedules, and notify the team when decisions may expose a project to freight spikes.
- Analyse stock holdings on an ongoing basis and advise on reprints, and liaise with the Rights Manager on co-edition printings.
- Be familiar with formats and materials used in both the boardgame and RPG industries and be proficient with InDesign and Photoshop, able to check files and output print-ready PDFs.
- Proven experience in boardgame production
- Strong attention to detail, administrative and organisational skills
- Experience liaising with overseas and domestic suppliers
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Good understanding of budget necessities
- Strong time management and scheduling ability
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and title management systems such as Consonance or Biblio
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to prioritise, work to multiple deadlines and the ability to work well in a busy environment
- Knowledge and a passion for the boardgame and RPG industries
