As an Editor in Social Science, you will contribute to shaping high-quality educational content that impacts learners across India. Opportunity –

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Edit, copy-edit, and design social science projects (print, blended, and digital) ensuring error‑free and timely delivery.
  • Review and develop content aligned with curriculum requirements and market trends.
  • Maintain consistency in pedagogy, style, tone, and grammar across series.
  • Estimate project costs, manage budgets, and ensure cost‑effective publication.
  • Coordinate with authors, freelancers, and internal teams (design, marketing, sales) to deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Develop and review digital content, including storyboards for animations, games, and interactivities.
  • Provide product knowledge to Sales and Marketing and assist in promotions and training.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and prepare product presentations for stakeholders.

Your work will directly influence the quality of educational resources, supporting OUP’s reputation for excellence and helping learners achieve their potential.

About You
  • Postgraduate degree in Social Science (preferably History or Geography).
  • 4–5 years of experience in educational publishing (print and digital).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound subject knowledge and familiarity with school pedagogy.
  • Basic knowledge of editing and digital content creation.
  • Ability to perform under strict deadlines.
  • Experience in managing budgets and schedules.
  • Familiarity with competitive analysis and product presentations.
