Horizon Teachers are working with a well-established specialist school supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The school provides a structured, nurturing, and communication-focused environment where students are supported to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
The school is looking for an experienced and passionate SEND Teacher to join its dedicated team. You will deliver engaging, differentiated teaching to pupils with ASD, using structured approaches, visuals, and communication strategies.
Responsibilities:
Planning and delivering personalised lessons for learners with ASD.
Working alongside therapists, behaviour specialists, and support staff.
Creating a structured, low-arousal classroom environment.
Contributing to EHCPs, progress reports, and reviews.
Supporting social communication, independence, and emotional regulation.
Requirements:
QTS (essential).
Experience working with ASD learners.
Strong understanding of communication-focused and structured teaching methods.
Calm, patient, consistent teaching style.
