The Oxford Hills School District is seeking excellent candidates for the position of Special Education
Functional Life Skills Teacher at The Guy

E. Rowe Elementary School grades 4-6
in Norway, ME.
This position is to start with the 2025/26 school year.

E. Rowe is a community school located in the heart of Norway. We seek educators who work collaboratively on shared goals.

This teacher would join a fabulous team to work with students in a self-contained life skills setting. Student disabilities could include , Autism, and OHI. Focus is on functional academics, ADL, communication, participation in inclusive classes, and other individual needs. Grade level would vary, but expected to include primary grades.

Candidates must hold a valid Maine certification 282 or the ability to obtain one with appropriate endorsement(s).

Work Schedule:

180 day Contract

MSAD #17 offers a robust employee benefits package for full-time employees, including: health insurance with 80% of the premium paid by the employer (with up to 100% if both spouses work in the district); dental, vision, Group Life Insurance; flexible spending and dependent care accounts;
Maine Public Employee Pension, 403(b) retirement plan eligibility; 15 paid sick days per year; and tuition reimbursement.

* In addition to the base salaries above, Special Education positions receive the following annual supplemental stipends:

  • Day Treatment Teachers - $4,500
  • Functional Life Skills Teachers - $4,400
  • Social Skills Teachers - $3,400
  • Resource Room Teachers - $2,000
  • Social Workers - $4,450
