The Oxford Hills School District is seeking excellent candidates for the position of Grades K-5 Behavior Day Treatment Teacher at Guy

E. Rowe Elementary School.

Candidates must be at least conditionally certified (282) Special Education in Maine.

Work Schedule:

180 days contract

MSAD #17 offers a robust employee benefits package for full-time employees, including health insurance with 80% of the premium paid by the employer (with up to 100% if both spouses work in the district); dental, vision, Group Life Insurance; flexible spending and dependent care accounts;

* In addition to the base salaries above, Special Education positions receive the following annual supplemental stipends:

• Day Treatment Teachers - $4,500
• Functional Life Skills Teachers - $4,400
• Social Skills Teachers - $3,400
• Resource Room Teachers - $2,000
• Social Workers - $4,450

• Work collaboratively on shared goals with educators.
• Deliver day treatment services to K-5 students with special needs.
• Model a strong work ethic, perseverance, grit, responsibility, and respect.
• Utilize best practices for motivating students in a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Develop real‑world learning experiences and community partnerships for student extensions, applied learning, service, and citizenship.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and the public.
• Instill problem‑solving and critical thinking as new basics across grade levels.
• Deliver strong literacy instruction across content areas.
• Help students develop skills to apply, interpret, analyze, and evaluate information.
• Employ effective lesson design adjusting to students’ personal learning needs and preferences, including appropriate technology applications.

• Conditional certification (282) Special Education in Maine.
• Experience working with K-5 students in a special education setting.
• Strong instructional skills and ability to design individualized educational plans.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
