This is a 0.2 fte fixed term role until 31 August 2028.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant to join the Oxford School of Nursing and Midwifery. This is an exciting opportunity to drive the engagement programme and an evaluation of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) South Central INSIGHT Programme (SCIP) to inspire early career Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals into research-inclusive careers.

Working closely with the SCIP team you will support the implementation of engagement activities for students undertaking the programme, their managers and the wider research network. You will support the programme team to evaluate the experience of a wide variety of perspectives including, but not limited to, students, employers, or service users. You will undertake strategic activities that promote and evidence the impact of SCIP, as well as inform recommendations for continual learning & improvement.

This will involve the collection of various data sources and their analyses and the preparation of reports and presentations for a range of target audiences.

Essential requirements
  • PhD or near completion of a doctoral degree in a relevant subject.
  • Recent experience in research within higher education or applied health.
  • Intermediate level skills in evaluation.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and flexibility.
Desirable requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with research instrument design and ethical approval processes.
