Alongside this, you will pursue original research aligned with the TSU's research programme, generating high-quality publications, contributing to funding applications, and representing the Unit in academic and policy forums. The role offers a rare opportunity to connect cutting‑edge research with executive practice, ensuring that scholarship informs real‑world decisions.

We seek a PhD-qualified scholar in transport geography, mobilities scholarship, or a closely related field, with experience in executive education, a strong publication record, and excellent organisational and communication skills. You will bring intellectual depth, global perspective, and a commitment to inclusive and collaborative teaching and research.

Transport Studies Unit, School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford. The Transport Studies Unit (TSU) seeks an inspiring and strategic academic to lead its flagship executive education programme, Global Challenges in Transport, while maintaining an active and impactful research profile. This distinctive 70/30 role combines programme leadership with independent scholarship.

You will direct and develop a globally recognised executive education programme that equips decision‑makers, planners, and practitioners to address the complex challenges of sustainable transport futures. From shaping course themes and engaging world‑class speakers to leading interactive sessions and setting long‑term strategy, you will deliver intellectually rigorous and practically relevant learning to professionals worldwide.

This post is fixed term until 1 July 2027 and offered on a full‑time basis (1 FTE / 37.5 hours).
