Learning Support Assistant – Oxford
Are you looking for a role where you can make a difference? Do you want to support students in the classroom?
A new role has recently become available in Oxford.
Your role will be to mainly support learners who struggle to keep up with their school work. You will help facilitate a fun, friendly and safe environment for students to thrive both academically and personally.
Your role as a learning support assistant will also include providing general classroom support to the class teacher. These duties will include helping manage general classroom behaviour, help with lesson preparation, help keep the class tidy and listen to the students read and practice their phonics.
Key responsibilities:
- Support learners who struggle to keep up with school work
- Facilitate a fun, friendly and safe environment for students
- Assist with managing classroom behaviour
- Help with lesson preparation
- Maintain a tidy classroom
- Listen to students read and practice phonics
Also responsibilities include:
- Provide general classroom support to the class teacher
Requirements:
- Calm, compassionate, confident and bubbly personality
- Ability to take initiative and adapt approach to meet children’s needs
- Experience working with children is beneficial but not essential
- Suitable for individuals working towards a career in psychology, education or similar related fields
