QTS Art Teacher – Long-Term Role (September 2026 Start)

Inspire the Next Generation Through Art & Creativity

We are seeking a creative and passionate Qualified Art Teacher (QTS) to join a well-regarded secondary school in Oxford from September 2026. This is a long-term opportunity, ideal for an educator who is committed to nurturing creativity, self-expression, and artistic skills in students.

You will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable), encouraging students to explore a wide range of artistic techniques, styles, and mediums.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Art lessons
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable)
  • Support students in developing practical skills across a variety of media (drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art)
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Create a stimulating and inspiring classroom environment
  • Contribute to displays, exhibitions, and wider school enrichment activities
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
  • A degree in Art, Fine Art, Design, or a related subject
  • Proven experience teaching Art at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of artistic disciplines
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience teaching GCSE Art & Design with strong outcomes
  • KS5 (A-Level Art/Photography/Textiles) teaching experience
  • Ability to teach across different creative disciplines (e.g. photography, graphics, textiles)
  • Familiarity with exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel, OCR
  • Experience contributing to school exhibitions or art showcases
