DescriptionThe post-holder will play a key role in helping to conduct the College’s Access work in a timely and efficient manner. This will include direct support for the Access Fellow and Admissions Officer, dealing with and progressing a wide range of matters in these areas. Please refer to the job Description and Further Particulars for further details.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for the effective day-to-day administration of access work including creation and management of policies related to this work
- Coordinate Access events (eg Summer Coordinate outreach programmes, Seren Hub events, school visits to and from College, HE Fairs)
- Coordinate Open Days
- Deliver access and outreach events
- Manage a portfolio of smaller Access & Outreach projects
- Manage the Student Ambassador (SA) Scheme
- Be a key member of the Oxford Cymru consortium
- Assist, as required, the Admissions Officer with Undergraduate Admissions administration
- Processing data
- Other appropriate tasks as requested by your line manager or Senior College Officers
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Evidence of excellent inter-personal skills (including the ability to show diplomacy and understanding in dealing with students, parents, and teachers) and ability to communicate with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds
- Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills
- Evidence of a high level of personal organisation and ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Evidence of high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Evidence of excellent and up-to-date IT skills, with a good knowledge of MS Office; in particular, good Excel skills are important
- Evidence of an ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Evidence of an ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Evidence of excellent problem-solving skills
- Evidence of an ability to know when to use initiative and when to seek advice
- Evidence of experience using websites and social media in a work context to communicate news and promote events.
- Experience of academic administration, including database systems, and/or a customer-service environment
- Experience of making presentations to a wide audience
- Knowledge or experience of Oxford University or its colleges, particularly involving contact with students and prospective applicants
