Lecturer in Paramedic Science

£41,064 rising to £44,746

Full time, permanent – academic appointment.

We are seeking a motivated Lecturer to join the School of Nutrition, Sport and Allied Health Professionals at Oxford Brookes University to deliver the pre‑registration Paramedic Science BSc (Hons) programme. The role is based at the Marston Road site and involves teaching, supervision, and contribution to the programme’s management and scholarly activity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching undergraduate Paramedic Science modules and supervising student research projects.
  • Developing and evaluating curriculum in line with the university’s standards.
  • Contributing to programme management, scholarly activity, and developmental ambitions.
  • Supporting occasional weekend recruitment events and teaching as required.

Applicants must hold a pre‑registration degree in Paramedic Science or equivalent and be registered with the HCPC as a Paramedic (international applicants may apply if HCPC registration is in progress). Full time, with possibility of fractional appointments.

Experience required for the post:
  • A strong clinical background in paramedic practice.
  • A track record of teaching or module leadership, preferably within higher education.
  • Experience in research activity and/or supervising undergraduate research projects.
  • Experience supervising pre‑registration Paramedic Science students as a practice educator.
  • Possession of a suitable teaching qualification for higher education (or willingness to complete one in post).
