We are looking for those who can share their viewpoints, experience, expertise, skills and fresh ideas to enhance the opportunities for our children and families within the community.
** Your opportunity
** We have an exciting and rewarding opportunities for you to join one of our School Standards Board (SSB). There are opportunities at four schools in Banbury:
Cherry Fields Primary School, Hardwick Primary School, Longford Park Primary School and William Morris Primary School. The volunteer position of SSB member is for a four year period with the option to continue for a second term. As an SSB member, you will contribute to and monitor the school’s development plan, and contribute towards maintaining and raising the high standards at one of these four schools.
All four GLF schools in Banbury are popular and have excellent reputations in the town. The SSB is the Trust Board’s interface with key stakeholders: parents, staff and the community.
SSB members provide regular feedback to the Trust Board on the performance of their school and the feedback from stakeholders (parents, staff and community), contributing to the overall improvement of the Trust. SSBs also have the opportunity to influence the strategy of the Trust as a whole.
No experience of the education sector is needed, the SSBs value experience from outside the education sector. Excellent training is provided and is a requirement to be completed. This important role requires commitment: there are six meetings per year (up to two hours each), and at least 3 visits to the school to see the school in action and to observer and question the leaders, staff and children.

* has the ability to analyse and interpret data and statistics
* has the confidence to ask questions and challenge school leaders in an appropriate way Being a member of the School Standards Board is a rewarding one, where you will gain insight into the workings of our schools and play a part in improving outcomes for every pupil. **** The Details
** Being a member of the SSB does require time commitment. SSB's meet formally once per half term (6 meetings across the academic year) and follow an annual work plan set out by the Trust. You are also required to attend training and undertake at least 3 school visits per year, to monitor the implementation of the development plan and strategic priorites of the school .
Meetings and visits take place during the school day.
While being a member of the SSB is a voluntary role, you will be able to claim for travel expenses if needed.### Safeguarding Statement:
