Empowering learning are looking to appoint a motivated and hands-on Construction Tutor initially on a temporary basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right person. You will play a key role in delivering practical vocational learning and helping young people develop valuable trade and employability skills for their future pathways.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in construction or vocational trades who is passionate about engaging young people through practical learning and helping students build confidence, independence, and real-world skills.

Based within a specialist school in Oxfordshire, you will support students through practical lessons focused on manual and trade-based skills such as bricklaying, decorating, plumbing, and carpentry. All schemes of work and lesson planning are pre-prepared, allowing you to focus on high-quality delivery, student engagement, and skill development within the workshop environment.

Working as part of a supportive and encouraging team, you will contribute to a practical, industry-focused curriculum in a well-equipped setting designed to support students who benefit from hands-on learning approaches.

As the school continues to grow and develop, we welcome applications from experienced practitioners who are enthusiastic about vocational education and committed to positively shaping young people's futures.

Who We're Looking For

  • Have experience teaching or mentoring young people within construction, vocational training, or practical learning environments
  • Have hands-on experience in trades such as bricklaying, decorating, plumbing, carpentry, or general construction
  • Are confident managing practical learning environments and engaging students through hands-on activities
  • Bring a calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young people
  • Are passionate about helping students develop practical life skills, confidence, and employability skills
  • Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Are motivated to support both student achievement and wider school success
  • Hold relevant vocational qualifications or equivalent industry experience
What the School Offers
  • A strong focus on practical, vocational, and employability-based learning
  • Small class sizes and supportive staffing teams
  • Pre-planned schemes of work and structured resources to support delivery
  • Excellent workshop facilities and specialist equipment
  • Opportunities for professional development and long-term progression
  • A rewarding opportunity to positively influence young people through practical education
