Overview
As a Learning Support Worker, your presence directly shapes the classroom experience for students with additional needs. You will not simply be supervising tasks; you will be the professional partner who creates a calm, purposeful environment where students feel secure enough to achieve. Working across a variety of subjects, your high expectations will help students build the independence and confidence they need to fully belong in our school community.
In this role, you will be required to work at our two sites in Oxford, Banbury and Abingdon.
Support students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism (ASD) or highly challenging behaviours. Implement Meadowbrook's restorative principles and conduct 1:1 interventions and small-group support to re-engage students. Create a calm, purposeful environment and partner with teaching staff to enable students to participate across subjects. Promote independence, confidence and belonging within the school community.
Qualifications & ExperienceExperience working with children or young people in youth work or school settings, particularly with learners with SEMH, ASD or challenging behaviours. Qualification in teaching, youth work, or an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) is preferred, along with a mandatory GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics. Advanced interpersonal skills in coaching, mentoring and mediation are required. A commitment to safeguarding and child protection, basic ICT literacy, and a valid driving licence with business insurance is necessary.
