Maths Teacher – Flexible supply roles, day-to-day and short-term opportunities

Working as a Maths Teacher on supply allows you to teach a range of year groups, maintain flexibility, and support continuity of learning across multiple schools. Duties

as Maths Teacher:
  • Deliver pre-planned Maths lessons confidently across Key Stage 3 and, where required, Key Stage 4
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Follow school behaviour policies, routines, and safeguarding procedures
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of pupils with different abilities
  • Support pupils’ understanding and progress in Maths
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure continuity of learning
  • Engage pupils and keep them focused throughout the school day
  • Provide clear feedback and handover notes for permanent staff
  • Represent Class Act professionally while working as a Maths Teacher
Ideal Maths Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Maths in a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering Maths lessons
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skillsA flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach to supply teaching
  • Good communication skills and a professional attitude
  • Willingness to work across different school environments
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • A positive and proactive approach as a Maths Teacher
