Are you a graduate or aspiring professional with an interest in Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, Education, Child Development or SEND? This Speech & Language Teaching Assistant opportunity in Oxford
- City Centre is an excellent chance to gain valuable, hands-on experience supporting children with speech, language and communication needs within a welcoming and inclusive school environment.
You will provide tailored support to children who may experience speech delays, language difficulties, Autism, social communication needs or other barriers that affect their ability to communicate and access learning.
This Speech & Language Teaching Assistant role is ideal for graduates and aspiring Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, Teachers, Occupational Therapists and SEND professionals looking to develop practical experience working with children and supporting their communication and development.
The Role- Providing targeted one-to-one and small-group support to children with speech, language and communication needs.
- Supporting pupils with speech delays, language difficulties, Autism and social communication challenges.
- Implementing communication strategies and activities recommended by teachers and Speech and Language professionals.
- Helping children develop their vocabulary, listening, understanding and expressive communication skills.
- Supporting pupils to communicate their needs, feelings and ideas using appropriate communication methods.
- Supporting children with emotional regulation by helping them develop effective ways to express themselves and communicate their needs.
The ideal Speech & Language Teaching Assistant will be compassionate, patient and approachable, with a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND and communication needs. You will have strong communication and relationship-building skills, be proactive and adaptable, and be confident working as part of a wider team. Previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential. Most importantly, you will be enthusiastic about developing your understanding of communication, child development and inclusive education.
What We Offer- £85-£110 per day, depending on experience.
- PAYE weekly pay.
- Full-time and part-time opportunities starting in September 2026.
- Practical experience supporting children with speech, language and communication needs.
Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
