Departmental Lecturer in Geography Education

The Department of Education are looking to hire a full time Departmental Lecturer
- Higher Education, on a fixed term contract until 31st August 2028.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and supervision on the Geography PGCE and the MSc Learning and Teaching programme.
The Geography PGCE programme recruits approximately 16 students each year and is one of seven subjects offered within the secondary PGCE. The MSc Learning and Teaching is a two-year, part-time Master's programme which, like the PGCE, places particular emphasis on the development of research-informed pedagogy at both general and subject-specific levels. The successful candidate will also contribute to teaching and academic administration within the department.
Applicants must hold a relevant master's-level degree, or higher, associated with the post. A good first degree broadly related to geography and a UK teaching qualification, or equivalent, are also essential.

The post is offered on a fixed term basis and is available from 1st October 2026 until 31st August 2028.
