Job Overview

Working closely with the Social Sciences faculty, you will design and deliver a dynamic curriculum covering social stratification, crime and deviance, research methods, and education. This is a full-time, permanent role suited to an innovative, highly organized, and proactive educator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach high-quality, engaging Sociology lessons across Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level)
  • Plan, resource, and execute lessons that foster critical evaluation, sociological debate, and analytical writing
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, preparing Sixth Form students for high-level A-Level examination success and university entry
  • Contribute to department enrichment initiatives, such as Sociology Society, debate clubs, and guest speaker events
  • Maintain high standards of classroom engagement and promote an ambitious, intellectually curious learning environment
  • Serve as a Form Tutor, contributing to the pastoral wellbeing and holistic development of students
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to refine schemes of work and exam preparation resources
  • Support the smooth day-to-day running of the Social Sciences department

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will feature:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)
