The successful candidate will take full strategic responsibility for the department, driving curriculum development, data tracking, and pedagogical standards across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
Leading a team of commercial specialists, you will cultivate a culture of financial literacy, market analysis, and economic critique. You will prepare students for competitive higher education pathways in Management, Finance, and Economics. This is a full-time, permanent leadership position.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership, management, and curriculum design for Business Studies and Economics across KS4 and KS5
Line manage, evaluate, and support department staff, conducting lesson observations and work scrutinies to maintain academic rigor
Implement rigorous tracking systems to monitor student progress and coordinate targeted exam preparation interventions
Oversee the delivery of A-Level Business, A-Level Economics, and BTEC National portfolios to secure top-tier results
Expand enterprise initiatives, including Young Enterprise schemes, stock market investment challenges, and corporate guest lectures
Oversee departmental budgets, digital simulation suites, and specialized business resources
Fulfill pastoral responsibilities as a Sixth Form Form Tutor, supporting UCAS applications for business-related degrees
Collaborate with Senior Leadership on whole-school career readiness and enterprise education initiatives

Previous departmental leadership experience (e.g., 2i/c, Subject Coordinator, or experienced Head of Department)
