We are working on behalf of a well-established and growing structural engineering consultancy based in Oxford, who are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer with 1–5 years’ experience.

The consultancy has a strong focus on residential projects, including bespoke houses, extensions, refurbishments, and small-scale developments. They are known for their supportive culture, high-quality design work, and commitment to work–life balance — including a 4-day working week with Fridays off.

The Role

The successful candidate will support the delivery of a range of residential schemes from concept through to construction.

Key responsibilities include:

Structural design in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber

Preparation of design calculations and technical drawings

Responding to site and construction queries

Liaising with architects, contractors, and clients

Working closely with senior engineers to deliver projects efficiently

Candidate Requirements

Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering

1–5 years’ UK consultancy experience

Residential project experience preferred

Working towards Chartered status (ICE or IStruct

E)

Good knowledge of UK design standards and Building Regulations

Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
