I’m currently working with a highly respected, independent transport and infrastructure consultancy that is continuing to strengthen its presence across the South East. Due to a strong pipeline of development‑led projects, they are looking to appoint a Transport Planner to join their Oxford team.
This consultancy has built a strong reputation within the development sector for delivering pragmatic, evidence‑based transport advice across residential, commercial, education, energy and mixed‑use schemes. They are known for their technical quality, collaborative approach, and commitment to developing their people.
The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for a Transport Planner looking to take ownership of projects while continuing to develop technically within a supportive and well‑established team.
Key responsibilities will include:- Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
- Undertaking junction capacity assessments and transport modelling
- Carrying out accessibility appraisals and active travel assessments
- Supporting site feasibility studies and development planning advice
- Liaising with local authorities, clients and design team members
- Contributing to project delivery from initial appraisal through to planning submission
You will gain exposure to a wide range of development projects and have the opportunity to work closely with senior colleagues, developing both your technical and client‑facing skills.
About YouI am keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Experience with in a transport planning consultancy environment
- Strong report writing and analytical capability
- Experience preparing development planning documentation
- Familiarity with junction modelling software (e.g. Junctions 10/11, Lin Sig, ARCADY/PICADY)
- A good understanding of UK transport policy and planning processes
- A proactive and collaborative approach
- Progression towards, or interest in, a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIHT, ICE or TPS)
- Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience
