Hardware Design Engineer
Our client is a global technology innovator specialising in high‑precision hardware and software systems used in demanding, real‑time environments. With a long‑standing reputation for technical excellence, they develop high‑performance electronic products that support advanced measurement, imaging and data‑driven applications worldwide.
Based in Oxfordshire, this role sits within a highly experienced multidisciplinary engineering group. Reporting to the Hardware Lead Engineer, you’ll contribute to the design and delivery of complex electronic products used in performance‑critical environments.
Responsibilities- Design and develop high‑performance electronic hardware
, including imaging, sensing and synchronisation devices - Collaborate closely with electronics, mechanical and software engineers to deliver efficient, reliable solutions
- Take products through the full development lifecycle
, from early feasibility studies to manufacturing and post‑release support - Embed strong test coverage, DFM/DFT principles and regulatory compliance into your designs
- Influence architecture and design decisions within a small team where your contribution is visible and valued
- A degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering
- Strong foundations in high‑speed digital design
, with a working knowledge of analogue electronics - Experience designing products for manufacture in a commercial environment
- A collaborative, proactive approach suited to a close‑knit engineering team
It would be advantageous (but not essential) if you have experience or interest in:
- FPGA or VHDL‑based design
- Imaging systems, sensors or optics
- Ethernet, RF or high‑speed data interfaces
- Battery‑powered or portable devices
