Building Services Engineer (Van Mobile Engineer)
Acorn is a leading engineering and compliance services provider with over 40 years of experience across London and the South East. We are looking for an experienced Van Mobile Engineer to support contracts across Oxfordshire and the Midlands.
Location & Travel RequirementsOxfordshire and Midlands – candidates must be based within easy reach of the M40 to allow efficient travel between sites.
Package & BenefitsSalary: up to £44,000 depending on experience, plus overtime and callout pay.
Hours: 41.25 hours a week.

- Carry out PPM, servicing and reactive maintenance across multiple sites.
- Respond to call-outs during normal working hours and participate in an out-of-hours emergency rota.
- Communicate clearly with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Liaise with the internal helpdesk and administration teams.
- Maintain accurate job reports, log books and documentation.
- Keep contract managers informed of job progress and site issues.
- Attend sites punctually, presenting professionally and wearing appropriate PPE.
Knowledge &
Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of M&E building services.
- Experience with HVAC plant including air conditioning, boilers, controls, heating and ventilation systems.
- Understanding of Legionella control.
- Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Qualifications &
Experience:
- City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Time-served mechanical or maintenance engineer (apprenticeship preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Full UK driving licence.

- Excellent communication and time management.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Confident in diagnosing faults and making informed repair decisions.
