Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client’s innovative team working at the forefront of aerospace and defence technology. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge projects within a highly regulated and technically challenging environment.

• Design, develop, and test mechanical components and mechanisms for aerospace and defence applications
• Conduct structural and thermal analyses, including Finite Element (FE) modelling, to ensure performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical, software, and systems engineering disciplines
• Support prototyping, testing, and practical assembly of mechanical systems and mechanisms
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to design reviews and support engineering decision‑making across project life cycles

• Demonstrated experience working within highly regulated environments, ideally aerospace or space sectors
• Strong understanding of structural and/or thermal analysis and FE modelling techniques
• Proficiency in mechanical design software (CAD) and analysis tools for structural, thermal, and mathematical modelling
• Familiarity with one or more of the following: gears, motors, or mechanical mechanisms
• Practical experience in building and testing mechanical systems and mechanisms
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
• Strong problem‑solving skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment
