HR Wallingford’s Equipment and Technology Division is a small to medium, high expertise team who develop and supply a comprehensive range of physical modelling technology for hydraulic, marine and coastal research facilities. With more than 70 years’ experience on our own modelling projects, our designs have been rigorously proven in use. For the past 30 years we have been sharing our technology and expertise with other model users, and are proud to have supplied equipment to more than 300 institutions worldwide.
Examples of the equipment we deliver include wave generation systems, absorbing beaches, tidal generators, towing carriages, instrument positioning systems, force measuring equipment, dynamo meters, and remote platforms.
Alongside delivering world class engineering solutions to our clients, you will be helping us develop and capitalise new, innovative technologies to enhance our product portfolio and continue the organisation’s growth in strategic markets.
About the roleThe Production Co‑Ordinator will play a key role in supporting successful project delivery by coordinating fabrication and production processes at our Wallingford site. The role carries responsibility for ensuring that our assembly and test facility (Basin G) is maintained as a safe and effective working environment, enabling projects to be developed, commissioned, and fully proven prior to shipment.
Working closely with teams across the Equipment & Technology (E&T) Division, the successful candidate will help ensure that robust systems and processes are in place to deliver products in line with agreed schedules, budgets, and quality standards. In addition, the role provides valuable input into the planning and execution of equipment installation at client sites. While primarily based in the UK at our Wallingford office, the position offers opportunities for international travel to support and collaborate with clients worldwide.
Aboutyou
The ideal candidate will hold a BTEC or Higher National Certificate/Diploma in an engineering or relevant scientific discipline, demonstrating a strong technical foundation. They will bring a proven track record in areas such as fabrication methodology, quality assurance, safety, or facilities management, alongside practical experience in maintaining mechanical systems in accordance with operational manuals.
The role requires experience in coordinating site activities, including the preparation of Method Statements and Risk Assessments, and a solid understanding of ISO
9001, ISO
14001 and ISO
45001 standards. Candidates should hold a valid counterbalance forklift certificate and the IOSH Managing Safely qualification would be desirable. A strong awareness of current health and safety legislation, with an interest in future developments and best practice, is essential to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
- Salary from £35,000, dependent on experience.
