The Role

We are seeking a keen and enthusiastic Electrical Design & Controls Engineer to join an experienced, multidisciplinary engineering team. In this role, you will utilize AutoCAD Electrical to design panels and schematics for a wide range of projects, spanning from small retro‑fit camera systems to large‑scale industrial automation machinery.

Key Responsibilities

Create electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring plans within AutoCAD Electrical to EU standards.
Program and configure PLCs and control systems for complex industrial automation systems.
Work closely with Design and Applications engineers to deliver technical specifications and project blueprints on time.
Support the manufacturing process by managing electrical fitting, panel wiring, machine assembly, and testing.
Integrate, maintain, and commission new and existing systems at customer sites (UK and overseas).

Required Skills & Experience

3 years of industry experience in electrical design and industrial automation.
3 years of experience using AutoCAD Electrical (or a highly similar package) for panel layouts.
Sound understanding of machinery safety, electrical control gear, and communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Ether Net/IP, TCP/IP, IO‑link).
A logical approach to problem‑solving with high attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong willingness to work collaboratively.

Desirable

Educated to degree level (2.1 or above) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Knowledge of robotics.
A clean, full UK driving licence.
