Position
Maintenance Engineer (Rotating Days)
LocationEynsham, Oxford-UK
Role OverviewWe’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to help keep our manufacturing equipment running efficiently, safely and reliably in a 24/7 operation. This role works on a rotating day shift (6am–2pm and 2pm–10:30pm, Monday to Friday) and is initially based in Eynsham, with opportunities to support our Bicester site as we prepare for launch in early 2027. The role will not automatically transition to Bicester at launch as it is supporting our Eynsham facility.
Responsibilities- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment and facility failures to restore safe operation.
- Take responsibility for equipment start‑up and shut‑down, ensuring process parameters are met.
- Monitor facility systems and record performance data for analysis and traceability.
- Deliver planned maintenance activities and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
- Update the maintenance management system accurately after completed work.
- Carry out routine checks and condition monitoring such as vibration analysis, weld parameter checks, fluid levels and vacuum inspections.
- Work safely at all times, following established procedures and contributing to a strong safety culture.
- Manage local spare parts to ensure availability and cost‑effective stock levels.
- Use structured problem‑solving techniques to resolve equipment issues and prevent recurrence.
- Support simple PLC modifications, tooling improvements or mechanical design solutions.
- Analyse trends in equipment data and recommend practical improvements.
- Provide advanced technical support and collaborate with others when complex issues arise.
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent qualification.
- Strong experience as a multi‑skilled maintenance engineer in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Balanced background in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Calm, methodical approach to fault‑finding and root cause analysis.
- Ability to plan and implement safe, effective and efficient repair solutions.
- Clear commitment to health and safety, including producing risk assessments and method statements.
- Confidence working independently, alongside the ability to collaborate and share knowledge.
