What you will be doing
As a Quality Engineer - Civil Engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring that all works meet required standards and specifications.
You will be:
· Implementing and maintaining the QA/QC management system on site
· Coordinating inspections with subcontractors and vendors
· Liaising with client representatives on all quality-related matters
· Managing and distributing QA/QC documentation
· Ensuring all site activities comply with codes, standards, and specifications
· Participating in internal and external audits
· Compiling quality documentation for project handover
· Managing non-conformance reports and implementing corrective actions
· Monitoring and enforcing the site Quality Control Plan
· Coordinating technical submittals and approvals
· Leading and chairing quality meetings with subcontractors
· Developing inspection and test plans
· Ensuring all quality documentation is current and accurate
· Working closely with site and construction management teams
What you will need to succeed
To be successful in this Quality Engineer - Civil Engineering role, you will ideally have:
· A degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
· Proven experience in a quality-focused role within civil engineering or construction
· Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
· Experience conducting internal and external audits
· Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
· Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
· Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management tools
Desirable:
· Recognised Quality Management qualifications
· Membership of a relevant professional body
· Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects
· Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
