What you will be doing
As a Quality Engineer - Civil Engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring that all works meet required standards and specifications.
You will be:
Implementing and maintaining the QA/QC management system on site
Coordinating inspections with subcontractors and vendors
Liaising with client representatives on all quality-related matters
Managing and distributing QA/QC documentation
Ensuring all site activities comply with codes, standards, and specifications
Participating in internal and external audits
Compiling quality documentation for project handover
Managing non-conformance reports and implementing corrective actions
Monitoring and enforcing the site Quality Control Plan
Coordinating technical submittals and approvals
Leading and chairing quality meetings with subcontractors
Developing inspection and test plans
Ensuring all quality documentation is current and accurate
Working closely with site and construction management teams
What you will need to succeed
To be successful in this Quality Engineer - Civil Engineering role, you will ideally have:
A degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
Proven experience in a quality-focused role within civil engineering or construction
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
Experience conducting internal and external audits
Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management tools
Desirable:
Recognised Quality Management qualifications
Membership of a relevant professional body
Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
