Mechanical Technician (Fixed-Term Contract - 2 Years) - Oxfordshire

A hands‑on role in a busy engineering environment on a 2-year fixed‑term contract. Involves supporting the installation, assembly, maintenance, and operation of a wide range of mechanical systems and equipment.

• Carry out mechanical assembly, installation, and maintenance activities.
• Support the operation and upkeep of plant and engineering equipment.
• Assist with equipment inspections, fault finding, and preventative maintenance.
• Work alongside engineers and technicians to support ongoing projects and equipment upgrades.
• Help prepare maintenance documentation, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
• Maintain stock levels of spare parts and identify replacement components when required.
• Support health, safety, and quality procedures across all activities.
• Contribute to a variety of engineering projects as required.

• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent practical engineering experience.
• Experience carrying out mechanical assembly and maintenance work.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

• Experience using workshop machinery and tools.
• Basic electrical assembly experience.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams.
• Understanding of electrical safety principles.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
