The role

As an Aircraft Maintenance Inspector, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring aircraft are maintained to the highest safety and regulatory standards. Working alongside Licensed Aircraft Engineers, you’ll contribute to flight-line operations, maintenance activities, and engineering assurance, supporting critical aviation capability.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Carry out scheduled and corrective aircraft maintenance activities
  • Support flight-line operations including aircraft preparation, daily servicing, and turnaround
  • Inspect and certify maintenance work in line with regulatory and company standards
  • Complete all maintenance documentation accurately in line with procedures and legislation
  • Provide technical support and work collaboratively with engineering teams and stakeholders

This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) based on site at RAF Benson. Shift patterns for this role are 4 x 10-hour days.

Essential experience of the Aircraft Maintenance Inspector
  • Experience working within a military or civilian Part 145 environment
  • Strong background in aircraft maintenance and flight-line operations
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and complete documentation accurately
  • Experience supporting or supervising engineering or technician teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders
Qualifications for the Aircraft Maintenance Inspector
  • Recognised aircraft apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Military or civil aircraft engineering experience is desirable
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
