We are seeking a Opto-Mechanical Engineer to join a growing team in Oxford. This role will focus on the design, development, analysis, and optimisation of precision opto-mechanical systems for innovative products. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including optical, electronics, software, and manufacturing engineers to deliver robust solutions that meet performance, cost, and reliability requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop precision opto-mechanical assemblies and components.
  • Collaborate with optical engineers to ensure mechanical designs meet optical performance requirements.
  • Perform mechanical analysis, tolerance analysis, and design validation activities.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and product validation.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are suitable for production and assembly.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of products and engineering processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Opto-Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in mechanical or opto-mechanical design.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacture.
  • Practical knowledge of opto-mechanical design principles, including alignment, thermal management, vibration control, and optical packaging.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Solid Works or similar.
  • Experience using engineering analysis and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
