Support mechanical maintenance activities including work on bearings, belts, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors and other production equipment.
Work closely with production teams to identify recurring issues and improve equipment reliability. Assist with machine installations, upgrades, modifications and continuous improvement initiatives. Complete maintenance documentation accurately using the site's maintenance management system (CMMS). Ensure all maintenance work is completed in accordance with health and safety legislation, company procedures and engineering best practice. Participate in root cause analysis and contribute ideas to improve plant efficiency and reduce recurring faults.
Support planned shutdowns and engineering projects as required. Requirements Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent. Previous experience working within a manufacturing, production, industrial or FMCG maintenance environment. Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills on industrial machinery and automated equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Good understanding of control systems, motors, drives and industrial electrical installations.
Basic mechanical maintenance experience including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes and pumps. Experience fault finding on PLC-controlled equipment would be highly advantageous. A proactive, safety-conscious approach with excellent problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a shift engineering team.
