Controls & Automation Engineer – Oxfordshire. Salary £40-65k + allowances, 5% pension, expenses. .

An established global engineering and automation specialist is expanding its European team by hiring an additional Controls & Automation Engineer. The business delivers advanced control systems integration projects across 40+ countries and has a reputation for technical excellence, innovation and high-performance industrial solutions.

• Design, program, test, and commission PLC control systems
• Develop SCADA and HMI applications
• Troubleshoot and optimise existing automation systems
• Support installation and commissioning activities
• Work with modern SCADA platforms such as Ignition and WinCC
• Contribute to control strategies and system architecture

• Solid ability to write PLC & HMI from concept
• Preferably competent with SCADA software design
• Ability to understand and modify electrical drawings
• Previous site experience including commissioning
• Competent to work autonomously
• Excellent customer-facing skills
• Preference for experience with Siemens TIA Portal

• Office-based position with standard hours and an early Friday finish
• Expenses covered with an additional daily allowance when on-site
• Travel: approximately 25% with potential to add around £6k to salary
• 5% pension, 24 days holiday, annual profit share (c. £1–£3k dependent)
• Commutable from Oxford, Swindon, Newbury, Wantage, Chippenham and Cirencester
