Want to join a growing team where innovation happens quickly and your work genuinely matters?

If you're an experienced Mechanical Product Engineer looking for the opportunity to lead product development from concept through to production, this could be the perfect next step.

Our client is an ambitious and fast-growing technology business developing intelligent hardware and software solutions that transform how organisations capture, understand and interact with complex real-world environments. Backed by pioneering research and advanced engineering, they are building products that are pushing the boundaries of robotics, AI and intelligent sensing.

As they continue to grow, they're looking for a Senior Mechanical Product Engineer to take ownership of the mechanical development of their next generation of products while helping to scale manufacturing and mentor an expanding engineering team.

Why This Role is Great

This is far more than a traditional mechanical design role. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of new product development, leading mechanical design from initial concept through to production.
  • Design innovative hardware featuring complex mechanical assemblies and precision engineering.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineers to integrate electronics, sensors and intelligent technologies into robust products.
  • Influence how products are manufactured by helping scale production from prototype builds to higher-volume manufacturing.
  • Build and improve operational processes including Bill of Materials management, procurement and production workflows.
  • Lead product compliance activities for international markets including CE, UKCA and FCC certification.
  • Carry out mechanical validation, testing and thermal simulations to ensure products perform in demanding environments.
  • Mentor and support fellow engineers while helping shape the future direction of the engineering team.
  • Get hands‑on building prototypes and supporting testing when required.
  • Play a key role in a business where your decisions have visible impact from day one.
About You

You’ll enjoy this role if you have experience in mechanical product development and are excited by working in a collaborative, fast-moving environment where you’ll have genuine ownership.

  • Designing products that combine mechanical, electrical and electronic components.
  • Manufacturing, production engineering, procurement or supply chain processes.
  • Taking products from prototype through to production.
  • Working within innovative engineering businesses, scale‑ups or technology companies.

Experience in any of the following would be an added bonus, but isn’t essential:

  • Computer vision hardware, LiDAR, GPS or advanced sensor integration.
  • Industrial or consumer product development.
  • PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad or Eagle.
  • Team leadership or mentoring.
  • Using AI-powered engineering tools or automation to improve engineering workflows.

If you don’t tick every box but have relevant experience and enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, we’d still love to hear from you.

What's in it for You?
  • Salary of £50,000 - £60,000
  • Hybrid working with 1-2 days per week from home
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
