Photonics Test Engineer

An innovative photonics company based in Oxford is seeking a talented PIC Test Engineer to support the testing, characterization, and validation of next-generation photonic integrated circuits.

The role will focus on developing and executing PIC test and characterization strategies
, working closely with design, fabrication, and packaging teams to understand device performance and drive improvements.

• Develop and execute PIC test and characterization plans
• Perform optical and electrical measurements on photonic devices and circuits
• Develop automated test setups and measurement procedures
• Analyse test data and identify performance trends and failure mechanisms
• Support wafer-level and packaged-device testing
• Work closely with design and process teams to improve device performance and yield

• PhD or MSc in Photonics, Optoelectronics, Physics, Electrical Engineering
  , or a related field
• Hands-on experience with PIC testing and optical/electrical characterization
• Familiarity with laboratory measurement equipment and automated test systems
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools is highly desirable
